DEWA ATHENA

Last week, on February 15, 2014, my school held the opening ceremony of DEWA ATHENA. The event was held at the Lapangan Bali. The opening was marked by a torch lit by Mr Encang as our principal. After that, the event was followed by a sports competition between classes form the class of 2015 and 2016. Contested sports are soccer, relays, basketball, and much more.

When it was, I was appointed as one of the representatives of the workforce in 2016 to play football. we competed against forces in 2015.

Each class has its own playing schedule. While waiting to be played, we started to take pictures. Because they still have to wait, we finally decided to go to the GBall to play futsal for about an hour. after that we went back again to the Lapangan Bali.
We went home when the time is shown at 5 pm.

Natural Phenomena!

Sun Dog!!

     What is a sundogs ?

A sun dog or sundog (scientific name parhelion) is a relatively common atmospheric optical phenomenon associated with the reflection/refraction of sunlight by the numerous small ice crystals that make up cirrus or cirrostratus clouds.

     How are sundogs formed ?

The formation of Sundogs is more frequent when the Sun is placed low on the horizon, especially during Sunrise or Sunset. In normal conditions, Sundogs are positioned at a distance of 22 degrees away from the Sun and this is the closest distance. It can be more but never less than this. When the separation is ideal and Sun is at the horizon, Sundogs appear. Slowly when the Sun moves to higher altitude of 45 degrees Sundogs appear at a greater distance from the Sun. And when the Sun goes beyond 61 degrees altitude, they disappear totally or appear very blurred.

TORNADO!!

A tornado is "a violently rotating column of air, in contact with the ground, either pendant from a cumuliform cloud or underneath a cumuliform cloud, and often (but not always) visible as a funnel cloud". For a vortex to be classified as a tornado, it must be in contact with both the ground and the cloud base. Scientists have not yet created a complete definition of the word; for example, there is disagreement as to whether separate touchdowns of the same funnel constitute separate tornadoes. Tornado refers to the vortex of wind, not the condensation cloud.
